Wood Plugs
Wood
Plugs are either 5/8" or 7/8" diameter by 1" long. They are made
of hardwood and treated with Copper Napthenate for long durability.
The plugs are tapered on one end for easy application. Wood plugs can
be used anytime the installation is horizontal, vertical down or diagonal
down. However, if the installation is vertical up or diagonal up, use
the plastic plugs as they have threads to keep them in place.

Plastic Plugs
Plastic plugs
are also known as Re-Plugs. They are removable for inspection and maintenance.
They come in black, beige or bright yellow for easy identification in
places like bridges, marinas or docks. While they are threaded, they
can be tapped in with a hammer, but you need a special tool to remove
them. The tool is about $7.00. Plastic plugs should be used whenever
IMPEL Rods are installed in ground contact where they will need to be
replaced every 5 - 10 years.
